Sadly it was and yes the tail came off. We had 5 in our butterfly house for a few days until I read online that they eat bugs and we could find any to feed them so I convinced the kids to let them go. 3 out of 5 had no tails when returned to the wild, I hope they survived. But, man, those lizards, named Michael, Crystal, Andrew, Gretel and Sally made my kids happy all day for days :)

The boys said, "cool!!!" They like the names Crystal and Michael best!
