I really enjoy your pics. I love art but I'm no buff. I can tell you that your pictures are beautiful because they catch feeling.
In this pic I see your child building a strong foundation of mind, I feel promise of a bright future, it also takes me back in time. I can remember as a child staring at a book that I "had" to read when I wanted to go outside to play.
Like I said I'm no expert at this stuff but I believe that the goal of art is feeling, if so you have met the goal! Good work!
